Three years ago today I published a review of Chivas Regal 12 year old blended scotch. It was my first review and I assumed at the time that it would be read by a few close friends and ignored by almost everyone else. Instead however, I somehow found a receptive audience on social media who seemed just as interested in reading my drivel as I was in writing it (I mean, what is wrong with you people? Haven’t you anything better to do with your time?).

It’s hard to believe that three years have passed since that first post but I’d like to mark the occasion by offering my thanks to those who have paid my little site a visit and to all who have contacted me via the website, email or social media. Connecting with like-minded individuals who have enjoyed reading my reviews makes all the hard work worthwhile. I wish I could share a dram with each and every one of you though I’m not sure there’s enough whisky in all Scotland to meet the demands of such an occasion. Instead, I am currently looking into the possibility of a social media competition where readers can win a sample set, especially selected by yours truly. Watch this space!

In the meantime, I thought it might be fun to look back on some of my older reviews and with that in mind, I have compiled a list of the 10 most popular reviews published to date and followed it up with the 10 highest scoring drams thus far…

The High Scorers…

There’s some really exceptional drams in this list, with early reviews like Aberlour A’Bunadh and Ardbeg Corryvreckan still holding their own amongst more recent additions from the likes of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and North Star Spirits…
