Isle of Arran Distillers have announced that an important milestone has been reached at their new Lagg distillery in the south of the island.
Testing of the equipment is now complete and the first cask filled with spirit. Cask Number One is a sherry butt exclusively reserved for members of the Lagg Cask Society and has been filled with heavily peated (50ppm) spirit.

Master Distiller, James MacTaggart said ‘It’s incredibly exciting to be taking the very first steps in producing what will eventually be a magnificent Lagg whisky and something truly unique to anything we’ve produced previously.’
Construction of the Lagg distillery and visitor centre is now entering its final stages and is on track to open to the public in early summer of this year.
