Christmas Gift Idea: Harris Tweed Hunting Hip Flask

Share:

It’s not hard to choose a gift for the whisky lover in your life but nevertheless I’ve been spending the last week or so making suggestions in case anyone is looking for a little something extra.

This whole idea came about because people were kind enough to buy me some quirky but fun whisky-themed Christmas gifts last year and I really wanted to share them this time around.

Now if you (or the person you’re buying for) are anything like me, you probably already have umpteen hip flasks of various shapes and sizes at home. Still, there’s always room for one more and this wee gem is different enough to warrant a purchase in any case.

The flask is the creation of Glen Appin of Scotland, a cloth manufacturer founded all the way back in 1903. Today the company designs its own products and arranges their manufacture. They create Harris Tweed bags and accessories and traditional tartan clothing for children. They also design stoneware, napkins, pet products, tea towels and of course, hip flasks.

This cylindrical stainless steel flask is wrapped in 100% pure new wool and conveniently comes with four small cups with which to share a dram with your companions. It may not be the most radical and exciting product you’ll ever see but it is nevertheless beautiful, tactile and very practical. Best of all, it is very reasonably priced.

Glen Appin of Scotland have a website here, though bear in mind it is for trade customers only. Feel free to contact them however to check for stockists near you.

*Full Disclosure: I have no affiliation with Glen Appin of Scotland. I’m not on commission here! I just really liked this product and wanted to share it with my readers!
