Allow me to start this little introduction by saying that I am not, by any means, a whisky expert. I just love the stuff and enjoy writing and talking about it.
Like many people, my early experiences of whisky were based on the occasional sip of a cheap blend that could only just be tolerated when loaded with ice and drowned in a mixer. My epiphany came much later, when I was offered a dram at a funeral. I accepted the offer, as much out of politeness as anything. That dram was a 12 year old Highland Park and it completely changed my life.
I’ve immersed myself in the subject over the last few years in an attempt to further my knowledge. Devouring every book, magazine, documentary (and dram) I could get my hands on. I’ve also taken part and completed the Scotch Whisky Trail Certificate Course run by whisky writer and Master of Malt, John Lamond, as well as completing the Whisky Ambassador course – an accredited whisky training program aimed at the licensed trade.
As well as writing these reviews, I can be found on the main social network sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. See the links below…
In the meantime, let me take this opportunity to thank you for checking out the site. I hope you enjoy the reviews and more importantly, I hope you enjoy your drams.
